| Comments | The two-bay Cadex SM+2 serves as charger, conditioner and quality control system. The charger reads the intrinsic power delivered during the previous discharge and compares it with the charger's target capacity setting. Adjustable to 60%, 70% and 80%. The charger flags batteries that fall below the set capacity reading and triggers the 'condition' light. The Smart Two charger supports battery types 2020, 210, DR202, DR201, DR36, DR35, DR30, DR17, DR15 or equivalent Smart Battery: Li-ion (10.8 - 14.8V); NiCd/NiMH (12V) Dumb Battery: NiCd/NiMH (10.8V - 12V) To restore and calibrate the battery, the user presses the condition button to start a discharge-charge cycle. The green ready light at completion assures a fully charged battery that meets the required performance level. A red light indicates that the battery has failed and should be replaced.
Non-SMBus batteries can also be charged but the state-of-health information is not available. Each bay operates independently so two batteries of different types can be put in the charger at the same time. |
